About Me

My photo
Stella M.
Growing up in Oyster Bay with woods as my backyard, it is no wonder that I grew up to be an ardent lover of nature and wildlife. Splashing in the creek, exploring every corner of the woods, my days were filled with discovery and adventure. When I was not outdoors, I was voraciously reading nonfiction wildlife/conservation books which fostered my deeply held commitment to wildlife protection. This lifelong passion led me to volunteer for Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society in 2006 and in 2007 I was elected president, a position I hold today. When not volunteering for the Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society, or working my full time job in the corporate world, I love to hike, bird, kayak or do anything that gets me outside and into nature. My favorite animals are predators, grizzly bears are my absolute favorites and I admit to a major fondness for the entire mustelid family!
